ER5356 is a commonly used aluminum-magnesium alloy welding wire.
Chemical composition
The main alloying element is magnesium (Mg), which is usually between 4.5% and 5.5%. The addition of magnesium can improve the strength and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys.
It also contains a small amount of manganese (Mn), generally around 0.05% - 0.20%. Manganese helps to improve the strength and corrosion resistance of the welding wire and improve the welding performance.
The silicon (Si) content does not exceed 0.25%, the iron (Fe) content does not exceed 0.40%, and the content of other elements such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) are also controlled at a low level to ensure the corrosion resistance and welding performance of the welding wire.
